Overaggression is the best way to get people killed in XCOM. The timers may put a bit of pressure on you to move quickly, but don't let your play become too aggressive as a result. With this in mind, don't spread out your squad too much (so you don't activate multiple pods) and never use both actions on a soldier until all soldiers have taken their first action. You should aim to never leave any enemies alive after you've met them. Not trying to bash on the game, it's just honestly insanely frustrating. How the heck do I deal with this INSANE difficulty? I'm not the only one who thought this from what I read online. It's not even "hard but fair", it' just feels like the game is saying "Oh, were you having fun? Well F you, I'm gonna mind control your guy, have him kill your other 2 squaddies". I like the concept of the game, but honestly this is the most difficult for the sake of being diffucult game I've played, more than Dark Souls or anything.

What the hell is point of letting you name and customize your soldiers when they all die every single mission. I'm playing on the default normal difficulty. Every single "EASY" mission I've lost 1-3 squaddies, trying some of these "EASY" missions for hours on end. Honestly, you set up what you think is a good situation, using flanking positions, full cover, overwatch and then the game just fucks you for no good reason. I know some people will say L2P, etc, but I've read guides online and tried to incorporate tactics like overwatch, full cover, using gear, etc. I really have no idea how people could consider this "balanced".
